Korean pop artist Yuna Kim received an MFA in Asian Traditional painting from Chung-Ang University of Korea. Kim has exhibited in many galleries in Seoul, Korea. She worked as a professional cartoonist for seven years but upon realizing the limiting factors of working in a hyper-broadcasted and market economy driven field, she changed her direction into the fine arts realm in 2012. Yuna Kim expresses that the idea and reality of death is a driving force in her works. But, instead of portraying death in darkness, she uses her background in cartoon and animation arts to make caricatures of human emotions.
